Live Entertainment

We feature great live music every weekend here at La Dolce Vita, with featured performers joining us each week on Saturday nights from 7-10pm, and Sundays during the “brunch” hours of 10am-1pm. And of course, the music is always accompanied by   great coffee, sandwiches and treats!

  • Join us for Open Mic from 7-10pm on the first and third Saturdays each month, hosted by Jon Steidemann, featuring a combination of new talent, regular performers and visiting talent showing their stuff!
  • The second, fourth (and occasional fifth) Saturdays of the month feature special performances from a variety of bands and solo artists.
  • And every Sunday morning from 10am-1pm, we feature a more relaxed, acoustic-themed set with some of our “regulars” including Band on the Fence, Jeff McQuilkin & Friends, and Moses Walker.

Be sure to join us for great music at La Dolce Vita all weekend long Check our online calendar to see who’s playing!

Sorry, I’m getting a little behind. I still have to post Sylvia Murray’s Performance from 5/9, then I’ll get to the 5/16 Open Mic.

Finally got a new laptop. You video-taped my performance at La Dolce Vita
on Mar. 28th. If you still have any footage of that performance let me know.
I would like to get a cd or dvd of it. Rick

Howdy! We met this past Saturday after I played my classical guitar piece. I happen to do IT as my primary work. If there’s anything I can do to help you out I’d be happy to help.

  4. Jon and Tom,
Thanks so much for all that you do with the open mics as well as other artist’s nights here. I know it’s a great deal of time and effort you give. I applaud all your gifts you share with all of us! Jon, your music, sound, humor and professionalism. Tom, your endless hours with video for this web site.

And of course, thanks to La Dolce Vita for providing the wonderful place to share our talents as well!

(I performed @ open mic night 8/1 and 8/15 and look forward to doing so again soon!)

    Hey, Tom,
Keep up the good work!! its looking great!.

Just fyi, on the July 18, Dan and Yoshi set, the name is Etta James, not Eda. That’s a great song from a ’40’s movie called “Orchestra Wives”, which Etta James made a big hit of, maybe in the 60’s?

  6. Just wondering when you’ll have video from the 9/5 open mic available for viewing. I’m excited to see it. I won’t be able to make it this Saturday as I have a gig in Lafayette. Hope you have a great night!
    Peace, Trinity

Thanks for your work with the videos. You must really put in hours and hours to get this done. Just want to let you know your work is greatly appreciated.

A little correction on my tunes on Aug. 22. Kathy Mattea’s song title is “455 Rocket”.

    Thanks again,

  8. Dear Dolce Vita Coffee,

Thanks for the fun, welcoming, polite and friendly atmosphere. It is truly the best crowd I have ever played for! I hope to see you all again soon!

As many times as I’ve played out with a band, playing solo in front of a roomful of people that are actually listening still makes me a bit nervous I guess. Sorry for the “jittery” playing and thanks for the good sound and good time. I will try to make it back out again when my schedule permits(if you don’t mind my kind of noise).

    Hi Alex,

The open mic is broken into 20 minute sets running from about 7pm until 10 or 10:30pm on the first and third Saturday of each month. The sign up sheet is usually available around 6pm. The sheet fills up very fast these days and could be filled as early as 6:15.

Sometimes the host, Jon Steidemann, will cut each time slot down to 15 minutes if there are a lot of people that want to perform. But that is Jon’s call.

You will find an easy-going appreciative audience at La Dolce Vita. I hope we see you soon at open mic.

How does your Open Mic Night work? I am a Mentalist (Mind Reading Magician) looking for a venue to practice a new routine.

I expect my set to run between 15 and 20 minutes.

    thank you in advance,

    Sean McCoy

  12. tommoriarty says:

    Hi Sean,

Performances start at 7pm, with 20 minute for each performer or group. The time slots usually fill quickly, so I recommend that you get there at 6pm so you can be one of the first to select a time when the sign-up sheet is posted.

I hope to see you there.

  13. Jon Steidemann says:

A big THANK YOU in advance to everyone at LDV for caring. I will try not to let anyone down. Much Love, Jon Steidemann
